Last updated: October 16, 2026

Your privacy matters. This page explains what information The9to5Detour collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

When you sign up for a free guide or my emails, I collect your first name (optional) and your email address. If you use the contact form, I also collect your name and the message you send. Like most websites, this site may also collect basic technical information automatically, such as your browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the site.

Your email address is used only to send you The9to5Detour emails, such as the guide you asked for, helpful tips, and occasional recommendations. Messages sent through the contact form are used only to reply to you and do not add you to any email list. Technical information is used to keep the site working and to understand which pages are helpful.

I never sell or rent your email address or personal information to anyone.

This site and its email list are hosted on the Home Business Academy platform, which stores your sign-up details so emails can be delivered. Sign-up forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA to block spam, and its use is covered by Google's own privacy policy and terms. These services only use your information to provide their service.

This site may use cookies to work properly and to measure visits. Some links are affiliate links, and the company you visit may set a cookie so it knows you came from my link. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. You can also contact me to ask what information I have about you, or to have it corrected or deleted.

This site is not meant for anyone under 18, and I don't knowingly collect information from children.

If this policy changes, I'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
